If you don’t like Will Arnett, we’re not friends. GOB Bluth of Arrested Development is probably the greatest character in TV history, and here he is watching an Olympic hockey game up in Vancouver the other day.
I’m pretty sure that Will has also been in some movies. That feels like enough of a movie-related tie-in to move on to the real point here: The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.
David Cross, aka Tobias Funke from Arrested Development, wrote and plays the title character in this show. He recently sold it to a network in the U.K. so it might be difficult to watch going forward, but the pilot fortunately leaked to YouTube for your viewing pleasure. And while Cross is the main star of the show, Arnett’s character is the real drawn here — as you can see below.
He is a high-powered exec and exchanges the following dialogue with a guy who may or may not be the guy that plays Rickety Cricket in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Will Arnett: I was recently in London. You know what they go fucking shithouse for over there?
Perhaps Cricket: Madonna?
Will Arnett: Energy drinks. Can’t get enough of it. It’s like fucking crack to these people.
Perhaps Cricket: Really?
Will Arnett: Who gives a shit.
It’s funnier when he actually says it. And although the opening scene with Arnett is the high point here, the whole pilot is pretty good, too. For sure worth your time unless your job is something really important and weird like a Chinese president or a geologist.
Head over to Warming Glow to watch the final 16 minutes of the pilot.
